This Is Now (May 30, 2025)
After a long time away, I’m allowing myself to drift back into the world of words. There probably won’t be much chess content here for a while!
As my Bluesky profile puts it, I am a:
Rabid reader, passable poet, casual cruciverbalist, armchair etymologist, list lover, coffee quaffer, and music maniac.
So, I guess that’s the kind of thing you can expect to see here…
That Was Then
I am a very adult chess enjoyer, player, improver, dabbler, enthusiast.]
I am on a quest, of sorts, re-learning chess after “sudden onset” aphantasia following a series of neurological treatments, but with a specific, intentional focus on enjoyment and using the game as a tool for promoting emotional well-being.
That’s what this site is about, though I have an interest and a modicum of skill in a great many things, including:
- Cruciverbalism
- Armchair etymology
- Folding origami
- Tea and coffee
- Poetry (reading and writing)
- Learning design
- Teaching (university level and incarcerated students)
