I am a very[mfn]Chronologically, at least.[/mfn] adult chess enjoyer, player, improver, dabbler, enthusiast.
I am on a quest, of sorts, re-learning chess after “sudden onset” aphantasia following a series of neurological treatments, but with a specific, intentional focus on enjoyment and using the game[mfn]In a panoply of forms, including study, training, history, books, and even physical gear.[/mfn] as a tool for promoting emotional well-being.
That’s what this site is about, though I have an interest and a modicum of skill in a great many things, including:
- Cruciverbalism
- Armchair etymology
- Folding origami
- Tea[mfn]Especially oolongs of all varieties.[/mfn] and coffee[mfn]I’m a coffee snob when I can be, with all the accoutrements, but I’m not a stranger to the Starbucks Café or the countertop Keurig[/mfn]
- Poetry (reading and writing)
- Learning design
- Teaching (university level and incarcerated students)
